P2P File Sharing

File sharing is distribution of files, media, or anything circulating around the internet whereby anyone can access this information. Examples of this can be any modules where one can share this kind of information (for example posting on Facebook, Twitter, or Tumblr)
P2P File sharing in almost identical to regular File sharing however P2P is between Peers. While this does provide some screening between who sees the information being shared, many issues of technological ethics rise because their is sometimes a lack of respect towards other people's intellectual property. Copy rights are starting to be implemented as well as censoring and reprimands for failure to credit one's sources.
"David Price, head of piracy intelligence at Envisional, a company based in Cambridge, England, that helps movie studios and other clients monitor copyright violations on the Internet, said that while file sharing by peer-to-peer networks appeared to be leveling off globally, sites that offered alternatives to downloading, like streaming of pirated movies, were growing fast"(Pfanner). Therefore, no matter how many rules are implemented to fight this crime of piracy, many ultimately will find a way to work around it.
Some examples of P2P File sharing is SkyDrives, Blackboard, and Napster. The extent of information shared varies on the type of media and the type of media outlet being used.
